Prime Minister hears evidence from small business panel ahead of Pre-Budget Report

The FPB attended a forum with the Prime Minister, the Rt Hon Gordon Brown, to drive home the struggle faced by small businesses in the economic downturn. During the meeting, the FPB called on the Government to ensure that blue-chip companies pay their smaller suppliers promptly, and for banks to protect entrepreneurs by resisting securing loans on personal assets until all business asset security options have been exhausted. more >>

Accountants urge government to ‘think smallest first’

Evidence from a survey of tax professionals has convinced the FPB that the Government needs to reform the tax system urgently to support small businesses across the UK. Failure to do so could have severe implications for the economy over the next twelve months.
